Your Queen Mary move-in, how was it?

Now you’ve arrived and are settling into life in halls, we want to ask for your help with providing some feedback on the process of applying for, moving-in and activities around this. Everyone who moved in until the end of September will be sent an email inviting them, but you don't need to wait! Follow the link below.

What do I need to do?

An email will be sent from 'GSL on behalf of Queen Mary', to all those who moved in during September 2026 by Monday 5 October, asking you to complete a short survey hosted on the independent, GSL Index platform.

Why should I complete the survey?

It’s your chance to tell us about the process of applying for halls, your moving in experience, the welcome activities provided by Residential Life, your accommodation upon arrival and a few other things.

Once the survey closes, we prepare reports and actions for senior management to show how we’re doing and then use them in making decisions for future residents and to try new things based on your suggestions. One example of this is the parcel lockers for residents which were a direct result of residents' feedback. A further example, was the use of the Unibuddy app to help residents connect prior to moving in, which came from previous feedback from residents in this survey.

That’s great but what’s in it for me?

You’ll have the satisfaction of knowing you’ve told us how we are doing and that you’ve made suggestions to develop the halls experience further.

GSL our survey partners have an incentive of £1000, in addition, everyone who completes the survey can claim a free gift at Residences Reception between 8am and 8pm, by presenting your survey completion code, like the one below to the Reception team (this will be checked before the free gift is issued). 

On top of this, there is a weekly draw during October for all completed entries funded by Queen Mary Residential Services where you have a chance to win a £20 voucher and spot prizes offered by GSL too.

How do I get myself into the draw for a voucher?

You will need to complete the feedback survey in full - the closing dates for each draw for completed entries that week are midnight on the: 7, 14, 21 and 31 October - following the draw those who have won will be contacted via GSL with an email 'Claim your Prize from Queen Mary' and a link to choose a voucher - please do this within 28 days, or the voucher will be reallocated.

When does the survey close?

The September feedback survey will close at midnight on Saturday 31 October 2026.
