Meet friends and neighbours on the UniBuddy app

So you’re coming to Queen Mary? Amazing news!

I’m sure you’re already in a frenzy of preparation, packing and planning for your time with us, and I’m definitely sure that you’re wondering the same thing as everybody else: what wonderful characters will you meet?

Well, wonder no more, because Residential Life have launched our first ever residents’ group chat through the UniBuddy App!

How can I join?

Have you confirmed that you will be 1) studying at Queen Mary and 2) staying in our residential halls? If you said ‘yes’ to both, then you’re on the list!

Look out for an email with your personal invitation to the ResLife community.

If you only accepted your accommodation offer recently, sit tight – your invitation will be with you soon!

Who can join?

In the interests of safety, privacy and cutting down on spam messages, only those who will be residents in Queen Mary halls for the year 2025-2026 will be invited to the community.

I'm an existing resident and somebody new will be joining my flat. Can I find them in this community?

Existing residents are welcome to join the community (keep an eye on your email inbox!) to greet and get to know the incoming students. While we can't guarantee that your new flatmate will be using UniBuddy, there's certainly a chance you'll find them there!

How does it work?

Once you’ve made your account you’ll be able to access the Queen Mary ResLife community, which features a range of different groups for you to get involved with. These include identities, hobbies and, of course, your hall!

These groups function as a big chatroom where you can get to know your neighbours, flatmates and classmates!

Will you answer questions about my housing allocation, meal plan, or other university issues here?

Any questions you may have should be submitted through Queen Mary’s official channels, not through the UniBuddy community. AskQM is the best place for most enquiries!

Can I join a group for my subject of study?

As this is a ResLife community, we aren’t hosting subject-specific groups. You are welcome to chat about schoolwork, however, and find some classmates that way!
